We would like to thank you all for your kind support to our association. We are today about 120 members. First time
in ten years we have crossed 100! Your unconditional and generous support
helped us bring quality programs this year. It is now the end of the year
and we want to make this a memorable event. So mark your calendars.
We are celebrating 10 wonderful years of our association: Dashamanotsava. So for your
entertainment we have planned some unique programs like the orchestra
(by Madhu and Arathi), Yakshagana (Vasu Aithal, Rajendra Kedilaya,
Shanti Tantri and group), Haasya harate, drama and other very good
programs. Dinner is on us.

This program is just for kids and youth to
participate in, so encourage your kids to perform! They can perform songs,
dances, etc.. Everything, however, should relate to Kannada and Karnataka.
If your child would like to perform, please call us back by Tuesday,
November 14.
The program is as

~Performances (dance, skits, music, etc.)
~Debate-Learning two cultures (Indian and American) is fun or pain
~ Fashion Show- anyone can participate, so come dressed up!

Sampige along with Hindu Society of NC will be organizing, Krishna
Janmashtami for the entire Hindu community of the Triangle Area. The event
will include rich variety of cultural programs from Karnataka and other
parts of India.

About the artist:
Sri D Balakrishna is the son of Padmabhushana Dr. V Doreswamy Iyengar-
veena artiste par excellence-of the glorious Mysore school of veena
playing, synonymous with the great veena Sheshanna.
Trained by his father since childhood, he has given duet performances
with his father as well as critically acclaimed solo performances in India
and abroad. The highlights of his artistry lie in his natural flair for
purity of raga, melody rich bhaava, rhythm expertise and smoothness of
style. Balakrishna aims at preserving and sustaining the authentic
classicism of the Mysore veena
tradition for the future.

on to Tryon road. Left on Wellingsborough road (you are now entering the Wellington
Park neighborhood). Go about
3/4 mile (the road winds keep going. This road becomes Forest
Park Way). The club house is on the right.
From Durham:
Take I40 east Exit 293 towards 64west to Sanford.
